Still Tracks · Multitrack recorder

Record every channel. Lose nothing.

Records every channel of the service to its own file, with a backup drive running alongside and files that survive a crash. Next week, play it back through the console and soundcheck the band before anyone arrives.

A Sunday with Still Tracks

Four steps, the same every week.

Built so a volunteer can record the whole service without help, and an engineer can trust it with the one take there is.

01

Open your template

Every channel is named and routed from last week.

02

Arm and record

One button. Watch the big record time and the disk time left.

03

Drop markers

Songs, sermon, offering: a key press each, renamed later.

04

Soundcheck next week

Play the service back through the console and mix the band before they arrive.

Safety first

The service only happens once.

When a feature competes with recording safety, recording safety wins. Everything else is built around that.

Crash-safe recording

File headers are saved every few seconds. If the power goes or the computer restarts, recovery repairs every file and you keep what was recorded.

A second drive, at the same time

Write every track to a backup drive while you record. A failing drive no longer means a lost service.

Disk and dropout watch

Hours left on the drive, write speed, and any dropout marked on the timeline. Silence fills a gap so tracks stay in line.

Virtual soundcheck

One click plays last week's service back to the console inputs. Mix the band before anyone arrives, with loop and click-to-jump.

Mixer and monitor

Fader, pan, mute and solo on every channel, plus a monitor output for headphones. In Record it never touches what is recorded.

Markers on the fly

Drop a marker for each song, the sermon and the offering. Rename later; they go with the files and into a marker list.

Files every DAW opens

One Broadcast WAV per track, time-stamped, in 24-bit or 32-bit float. Open them in any DAW without converting.

Templates for every week

Channel names, routing and colours saved once. Sessions are named by service and date automatically.

Readable in a dark booth

Big record time, disk time left and status, in the same graphite, champagne and teal as the Still Audio plugins.

Mixer and monitor

Solo the pastor. The recording stays untouched.

While you record, the mixer only feeds your headphones: solo any mic to check it. Faders, mute and solo never change what is written to disk.

In soundcheck, the same mixer shapes what goes back to the console: mute the drums, solo the vocals. Every change fades in a few milliseconds, so nothing clicks.
