What it does

Laid out like a console channel, left to right: Low cut, LF, LMF, HMF, HF, High cut, Output. Turn the knobs or drag the dots on the analyzer.

Most digital EQs squeeze high boosts as they near 20 kHz at 44.1 or 48 kHz; Still EQ places each filter so its curve matches the analog one, without oversampling or delay. Musical Q widens the bells at small boosts and tightens them as you turn up. Flat settings pass the sound untouched.

Key features

  • Low cut 12 / 18 / 24 dB/oct, High cut 12 / 24 dB/oct
  • LF and HF: shelf or bell; LMF and HMF: sweepable bells with Q
  • Analog-matched curves: no cramping near 20 kHz
  • Analyzer (input and output) with draggable dots; Musical Q; EQ in
  • Output safety: untouched up to +18 dBFS, then a soft bend toward +24 dBFS

Quick start

  1. Insert on a channel; switch on Low cut (about 80–120 Hz for vocals).
  2. Cut first: sweep LMF with a boost to find the boxy spot, then turn it down.
  3. Add presence with HMF (2–5 kHz) and air with the HF shelf.
  4. Double-click a dot to put it back to 0 dB; click EQ in to compare.

GOOD TO KNOW

Tested: a 12 kHz bell (+12 dB, Q 1) at 48 kHz stays within 0.73 dB of the analog curve from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, where a standard digital EQ is off by 4.5 dB. Flat is bit-exact, and a sudden +18 dB boost glides in with no overshoot.
