Still Deverb
Takes the room's ring-out off speech and vocal mics, with zero latency.
Also in the Speech & Pulpit bundle
What it does
In a big, live church, the pastor's, lapel and choir mics pick up the room, so the livestream sounds distant. Still Deverb watches 32 bands: while sound is new or steady it leaves them alone; while a band is dying away like the room, it pushes it down.
The tail between words gets shorter and the voice sounds closer. New words always open instantly and held notes aren't touched.
Key features
- Shortens the room tail between words; words and held notes stay
- Room decay, Keep early (natural first reflections), Release, Max depth
- Low / High range dragged on the display, with a live view of what's removed
- Delta (hear only the room), Mix, Output
Quick start
- Insert after PBS DeNoise on the pastor, lapel or choir mic, or the stream speech bus.
- Set Room decay to the room's reverb time (live church: 1.5–2.5 s).
- Raise Reduce until the space between words sounds drier.
- Turn Delta on briefly: you should hear only room, never words.

GOOD TO KNOW
Tested on a simulated 1.5 s hall: the tail between words dropped 11 dB while the words changed 0.1 dB. It can't remove what the PA puts into the room, and it's best on speech.
