What it does

Still Console adds the sound of a channel or summing stage. Desk is a channel amplifier, Tape adds a head bump and rounds the top, and Iron saturates the lows first like a transformer. Bus mode uses a softer curve with a slow glue across both sides.

Drive sets how hard it is pushed; at 0 the sound passes untouched. Crosstalk and a noise floor (hiss and 50 or 60 Hz hum) are there for the full picture, and the noise is off unless you turn it up.

Key features

  • Desk, Tape, Iron characters; Channel or Bus mode (Bus adds a slow linked glue)
  • Drive 0–100% (0 = bit-exact dry), Input, Mix (parallel), Output
  • Crosstalk between the sides, highs leaking more than lows, up to −30 dB
  • Noise floor: pink hiss and optional 50 / 60 Hz hum, off by default; With signal only keeps silence silent
  • Display: the curve and the harmonics it adds at your level; Added colour readout

Quick start

  1. Insert on a channel or group and pick a character.
  2. Turn Drive up until the Added colour readout says Warm.
  3. On the mix bus: Bus mode, Desk or Tape, Drive 25–40%.
  4. Want the vintage feel? Noise floor around −84 dBFS with With signal only on.
